Aft Cottage sits overlooking Brixham and a 5 minute drive down the hill brings you into a lively fishing town filled with character.
Brixham has recently been in the lime light after the popular 'Fishing Town' documentary series and consequently has had surges of visitors which has resulted in a new lease of life in this small fishing town with new cafes, bars, shops & restaurants on offer as well as still being a busy working fishing harbour.
There is town parking in the centre, a shopping high street and the fishing harbour where you will find a range of pubs, restaurants & cafes, many offering local fresh fish, local beers, wines & ciders.
The harbour is a constant hive of activity with the fishing trawlers, ferries & private boats going to & fro. As well as a a lifeboat station, pirate ship & games arcade, the cafes & pubs offer outdoor seating and there is a fantastic walk around the harbour to the Brixham breakwater where you can walk along or sit & fish or chill out at the breakwater beach. Further around the harbour brings you to Shoalstone Outdoor Pool which offers free swimming in the summer season.
Coming out of Brixham you have Berry Head - an ideal dog walking area offering stunning views over to Paignton & Torquay. The Guardhouse cafe welcomes all dogs & walkers and has a fantastic breakfast / lunch offering.
